Begin the New Year by Being Grateful

Whether you are one of those people that dread seeing the arrival of another new year or are full of eager anticipation doesn't matter.

What matters are your attitude and your thoughts when the new year arrives.

Your attitude and thinking set the tone for the whole year ahead.

When you begin a new year, just by realizing and recognizing how much you've accomplished in the past year and how much you have obtained, you learn to appreciate yourself and understand that you are in-control of your future. Positive Feng Shui energy is all about being in-control of your life, your surroundings and your future.

Develop a Gratitude Attitude

Learning to maintain a gratitude attitude provides you great Feng Shui energy and helps you focus on what you will want to accomplish in the new year. Through developing a gratitude attitude you will understand just what drives you and how to create resolutions for the new year that will really work and that you will be successful in accomplishing.

If you make New Year's resolutions every year and by the 15th of January have totally given up, you've accomplished nothing and find yourself feeling like a failure. But if you base your resolutions on a gratitude process you will not only be in-control but will be successful in achieving them.

o A gratitude attitude helps you place value on what you have including your job, your home, your relationships and surroundings - what you currently have is a reflection of what you want

o A gratitude attitude helps you appreciate what you've accomplished - it's a reflection of what you focus on

o A gratitude attitude provides you perspective on what's important in your life - what's important in your life is exactly what you've achieved in the past twelve months

Plan for a Successful 2008

Once you learn to appreciate and be grateful for all that you have, it is much easier to decide what you want to accomplish and achieve in 2008. If you want something better in the new year you need to have a plan - just keep your plan actionable and simple.

Begin by determining what you want based on what you are grateful for and have. Do you want to upgrade things in your home, improve relationships, lose weight, get a new car, save money, make a career change or take a major trip? Make a realistic list of New Year's Resolutions that reflect your desires. If your list is not too long, your resolutions are realistic and accomplishable, you will achieve them.

Next, create a time line for accomplishing your resolutions - mark your time line on your calendar. By creating a time line you are planning for success. By placing it on your calendar you are programming your resolution for completion. Review your progress monthly or quarterly so you can appreciate and acknowledge your progress and accomplishments.

Finally, create an Intentions Board (use a bulletin board and push pins) to help you focus positive energy on your resolutions. Place it in the east area of your office or a hallway near your bedroom on an east wall. East is the Feng Shui direction for creating new things in your life, to promote growth and positive change. Place onto your Intentions Board pictures that represent your resolutions.

For example, if you want a new car, place a picture of the exact car you want right down to the model and color on your board. Or, if you want to lose weight, put the number representing the size clothing you want to wear or the amount of weight you wish to lose.

By focusing energy on your Intentions or resolutions, you will also focus your personal energy on accomplishing your resolutions. Resolutions can often be very important to the improvement of your future but can be difficult to accomplish if you do not focus positive energy on them. An Intentions Board is a wonderful tool that can help you and your commitment to yourself.

Remember, what you focus on, you accomplish.

Christmas - Santa's Secret Christmas Eve World Peace Tradition!

Santa has a traditional Christmas eve tradition which many families around the world join in each year.

They are known as 'The Seven Secret Sacred Blessings and Wishes for the Seven Continents for World Peace".

For Santa, these are the most sacred moments before he takes off on his annual world mid-night gift giving journey.

So each Christmas eve way up high amongst the stars Santa Claus in his sleigh has seven minutes of sacred blessings and wishes he bestows upon the earth at seven minutes to mid-night. It is a time of silence for all the reindeer as they blow energy into the wishes and blessings at the exact moment they are spoken by Santa Claus.

Santa invites families and people from all around the world to join him in these sacred moments by saying the following blessing and wish for each nation at the exact time of 7 minutes to mid-night each Christmas Eve. Santa always ends each nations blessing and wish by blowing energy with a kiss into the blessings. The following blessing is said after each continents name starting with Africa, then Antarctica, Australia, Asia, Europe, North America and then ending with:

South America - Santa's Blessing & Wish for this Nation:

"Great wishes are scattered beneath this starry sky to all our brothers and sisters on this eve of the birth of new beginnings. These seeds of hope, great dreams for unity, peace and freedom are too the seeds of remembrance to live in gratitude, to embrace together in peace, love, forgiveness and acceptance. The seeds to move the human race forward and connect all people hand in hand together as one! Take hold new seedlings, embed and grow in the hearts of each one young and old beneath this starry sky this night!"

Santa Claus is a bearer of happiness, generosity of heart, good will and peace for all. He reminds us of our responsibility to create peace and love on the planet. He knows that peace starts with each person and has a ripple effect. Santa wants us to let go of the past hurts, forgive those that have hurt us - not for them but for our peace. He knows that only when we are at peace within can the world be at peace. Peace is one of, if not the greatest gift we can leave on the planet. Peace is love in action!

How I Made Peace With My Thoughts And Transformed My Life

You Are Unique In Your Thought Life

I made peace with my thoughts by welcoming every thought, even the painful ones.

In time, my mind settled and my life transformed, since I was no longer held captive to my thinking. In doing so, I discovered inner peace and freedom within.

Situations which previously caused painful feelings slowly melted away, and I was no longer wrestling with my thoughts.

It may sound hard to believe, but my greatest discovery throughout this journey is that I stopped believing my thoughts. Why do we buy into the false narrative our thoughts promote? People lie all the time and cannot be trusted, so why do we believe our thoughts are true?

To be clear, I'm not talking about how we use thinking to figure out problems. I'm referring to the incessant thoughts that pass through our mind repeatedly. The thoughts which emerge out of nowhere and convince us of something that isn't true. Can you relate?

Here's an idea to consider: Thoughts are subjective to the experiencer. There are many factors that determine how we think, including our upbringing, our state of health, beliefs, and our environment. In other words, our thoughts are unique to us and are the amalgamation of our past and present. No two people share the same thoughts, even those raised in the same household. We are unique in our thought life and there is no such thing as 'The Truth." There is only 'Your truth.'

In my case, I was aware of the mental chatter for a long time. No matter what, the voice in my head was always talking back to me. Is this something you can identify with? If so, how do you deal with it? There came a point where the voice was overwhelming and I turned my attention to meditation to calm my mind. This took many months of practise, but eventually I could sleep at night, without waking up to the incessant mental chatter.

An even greater shift occurred when I stopped listening to my thoughts and paid attention to my feelings. This is when my life really transformed. I no longer believed my thoughts because, depending on my mood, my thoughts could not be trusted. For example, if I woke up in a bad mood, my thoughts would reflect this for the entire day. If I woke up in an agreeable mood, I felt fine. I was hinging the quality of my life based on what I was thinking, and this was no way to live.

Eventually, I had enough and wanted to be in control of my thoughts, without letting them dictate my mood. So, by turning my attention to my emotions, I observed my thoughts without becoming invested in them. I simply turned down the volume on my thoughts and shifted my awareness to my feelings.

Our feelings are the expression of the soul, even painful ones. Many people are accustomed to running away from difficult feelings because they don't want to deal with them. I've met countless people over the years who experienced something similar. They pay attention to their thoughts their entire life, which leads them on a wild goose chase. Therefore, if we can tune in to our feelings without manipulating them, we can make sense of them.

Welcome Your Difficult Feelings

Are you comfortable with this so far? Is it resonating with you that your feelings, not your thoughts, are the measure of your truth? The transformation took place when I was no longer chained to my thinking. Earlier, I mentioned if I awoke in the morning in a bad mood; it dictated how my day unfolded. Can you see how this is a recipe for unproductive living? We are at the mercy of our thoughts, without knowing they can be trusted. You might reason that because you experience your thoughts, they must be true? But what evidence are you going by? Observation alone?

I would argue because we are enmeshed in our thinking and blinded by our thoughts, it is difficult to make sense of them. Returning to my transformation, I am still aware of my thoughts, however, I now look to my feelings to see whether they are in alignment with my thinking. For example, if I wake up in a bad mood, I turn my attention to my body and notice the sensations there. I connect with them without resisting them. I recite the mantra: "I accept" or "I consent." I welcome my thoughts without judging them or letting them rule my day. I simply observe them come and go from my mind without becoming attached to them.

More importantly, I welcome all thoughts, even painful ones, without censoring them. For much of my life, when I experienced painful feelings such as anger, sadness or a depressive mood, I tried to change the feeling. I immersed myself in activities so I wouldn't have to feel the painful emotions. However, when I was not distracting myself, the emotions returned with greater intensity. Has this happened to you? I felt I was on a merry-go-round trying to get off, but powerless to do so. When I stopped resisting difficult thoughts and emotions, my mind settled and I found inner peace and an unbound freedom like no other. I wish the same for you because I know it is possible.

Considering this, see if you can practise welcoming difficult thoughts and emotions for the next 24 hours. Don't rush it, but start small. When you notice them, move your attention to the part of your body where the feeling is situated. Breathe into it and silently affirm to yourself: "I accept." Feel your feelings and let them come and go without trying to control them. You might notice they will increase in intensity while you're paying attention to them. Your inclination will be to run away from the emotion, but stay with it a little longer. Within a few moments, the emotion will settle and you will notice a sense of inner peace and an expansive space around you. This is your natural resting awareness filling the space of the emotion. After all, to transform our life, we must welcome all our thoughts but not be tied to them, since they are transitory states.
